Signs another five star boutique Resort in Thailand, The Racha

HRA is delighted to announce the signing of another Thailand property to its portfolio with the signing of the spectacular Racha. HRA’s Managing Director, Craig Davies says, ”Thailand is booming and its great to be able to offer something different and unique and so close to Phuket”.

Set on Batak Beach overlooking one of Thailand’s most spectacular bays Racha Yai Island, twelve miles to the south of Phuket.  A forty-five minute transfer from Phuket International Airport to Chalong Bay followed by an additional thirty minutes by sea. 

There are a total of forty-four deluxe villas at 43m2 excluding terraces, eleven grand deluxe villas at 54m2 excluding terrace, six grand deluxe pool villas and four junior pool suites at 86m2 excluding pool & terrace and four grand pool suites at 93m2 excluding pool and terrace.  Finally one unique villa ‘The Lighthouse’ a two bedroom pool villa at 150m2 excluding pool and terrace.

The Racha has four restaurants and two bars plus in-villa dining.  The Anumba Spa with a wide range of soothing massages, body treatments and facials.  Facilities include a gym, sauna, steam room, yoga room, shop & health bar.  Recreational facilities, two swimming pools with underwater music, flood lit tennis & basketball courts, boats for private excursions, all terrain vehicles, mountain bikes, library plus a five-star PADI dive centre.  In addition there are thai cooking classes, thai boxing classes and batik painting.

The Racha also offers meeting facilities with a 48m2 meeting room with a seating capacity for forty persons theatre style and 34m2 boardroom for twelve persons. 

The Racha is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and was voted one of the top 100 hottest new resorts in the World by Condê Nast Traveller.

Breaks signs first property in the Philippines. El Nido Resorts

The Philippines is an unknown quantity to many Australians and we believe this to be a positive as so many are looking for new destinations to visit.

El Nido,a municipality at the north-western tip of the Province of Palawan, located 430kms southwest of Manila.  Scenic landscape, crystal clear waters and relative isolation attract and fascinate most travellers to El Nido.  The 45 islands, inlets and surrounding sea present endless opportunities, perfect for sunbathing, scuba diving, picnic lunches etc.  Exploring the islands of El Nido you may find ancient caves with fascinating drop stone formations or be surprised by stretches of lime stone walls that conceal a world of calm lagoons.  The El Nido Resorts are located on Lagen Island and Miniloc Island.

Craig Davies

Managing Director

Craig is the Managing Director of HRA and founder of the company. He believes in a personal hands on approach and as such has set a limit on the number of clients HRA will represent.

He has twenty years experience in publishing both consumer & industry related publications. He has been actively involved with all state visitor & convention bureaus, Tourism offices and major airlines during this twenty year period.

Craig was a Director of The Braynart Group -founders of Quorum Magazine, Pacific Island Fact File & Meeting Place Australia, a Director of Paradises Ink -founder of Mice.net Magazine, Asian Paradises & Pacific Island Paradises (all of these publications are still actively involved in the market and have proven track records) Now Managing Director of Decra Publishing & Creative, a boutique marketing company and Publishers of Peace of Mind -a seniors magazine.


Having traveled extensively around the globe he has developed a strong love of Asia and the south Pacific " I think we have all this beauty right at our back door, why spend 24 hours on a plane when the very best is but a few hours away". Having spent many years traveling throughout Australia & South East Asia, and dealing face to face with all major hotels and resorts he has gained a clear understanding of what is needed. With his years of publishing experience he also has a clear insight into what advertising works and what does not!

Through Craig's publishing contacts he has the ability to get coverage in all forms of media when and where required.

Adam Watson:  

Associate Director

Adam has over 30 years of tourism experience ready to go to work for you. From Market Development Manager with Singapore Airlines to Director of Sales & Marketing for Hilton International, ANA Hotel Sydney and Daikyo Tourism & Leisure.

Adam has over ten years experience in marketing distribution (GSA) for a portfolio of tourism companies including Emirates, Asiana Airlines, Peter Deilmann Cruises, Macau Tourism and Regal International Hotels.

Proven business development skills, a skilled sales negotiator, and a network of key contacts throughout all facets of the tourism industry, national and international experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing and financial plans, expertise in developing and implementing advertising and promotional campaigns and the ability to manage and motivate sales teams.

Adam successfully launched Emirates into the Australian market and achieved a 125%revenue growth in the first 12 months of operation.   Whilst General Manager for ICON Services he increased clients from initial of 5 to 15 airlines plus 4 hotel groups and various tourism and hospitality products.

His knowledge and understanding of the tourism industry is second to none.

Lynette Davies

Associate Director, New Zealand.

Lynette is well known in New Zealand for her fund-raising activities and marketing expertise. 

Her involvement with tourism goes back more years than she cares to remember and includes setting up Auckland Tourist Times, marketing for Tourism Tasmania, compiling wining and dinning guides for New Zealand and Australia and regular freelance articles from both sides of the Tasman.

She is passionate about her birth country, New Zealand and sees a greater relationship building between Australia & New Zealand due to proximity safety issues and costs.

Lynettes strengths will be a great asset to HRA and  the New Zealand market.      

 

Melanie Meens

Account Manager

Melanie’s formal training and work history has been in the Leisure Industry. After completing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Leisure Studies, Melanie worked for almost ten years in the industry where she developed experience in Sports Administration, Recreation Planning, group events and Community work.

Melanie has also travelled extensively both independently and as a business traveller. After a number of years being expatriated, she returned to Australia to work in Corporate Relocations looking after the housing, education and travel needs of domestic and international Relocates.

Most recently Melanie has been working as a Software Trainer where she provides training and support on a consultancy basis.

All fields of her work have required a specific client focus which she looks forward to translating into strong and supportive relationships across the travel industry, ie Travel agents, corporate companies, incentive house’s  and PCO’s.

Phil Oconnell

Associate

Philip joined Thomas Cook Travel in 1967 as a Trainee, this was the beginning of a very long, successful & prosperous career in the travel industry.  He joined Malaysia Airlines in 1975 as a Sales Representative and the rest they say, is history.  Philip’s career with Malaysia Airlines spanned 28 years and he recently retired as their National Sales & Marketing Manager.   He was part of a Management Team that took Malaysia Airlines to 4th position inthe market share by the year 2000, working closely with the Distribution, Wholesalers, Hotel and Airline partners.

 

Robyn Ronaldson

Account Manager

Robyn Ronaldson is a member of the HRA team in Sydney and her primary role is representing HRA to travel agents in Sydney – both retail and corporate.

Robyn has over 20 years experience in the travel industry and has built up a diverse range of experience in that time covering operations management of tourism events, sales and marketing to the corporate and retail market, together with experience in the inbound tourism market.

She is well known and respected in the industry with contacts in most fields.

During the past 10 years she has represented some well known operators in the market including Chat Tours, Wildlife Safari, Cable Beach Club Resort, Sonaisali Island Resort, Evason Resorts and Spas and Sahara Outback Tours.

 

dlDavid Latta

David Latta is a Sydney-based journalist, editor and public relations consultant. He has written on a wide variety of subjects for such publications as the Sydney Morning Herald, Sun-Herald, Courier-Mail, Travel & Leisure and Vacations & Travel and is the author of six critically-acclaimed books as well as contributing to a number of travel guides.

As an editor, he has steered the creative course of many magazines including convention industry publications The Convenor and Quorum, and trade publications such as The Gambler and Tomadachi – The Journal of the Australia-Japan Society.

In a media career spanning more than 25 years, he knows what works and what doesn’t, a unique insight that has seen him in demand as a PR consultant for a range of industries. His PR clients have included McDonald’s Australia and the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority.
